Reconstructing paleoclimate
necessitates combined methods to present global view. Sessions will be organized focusing on the following main topics: · Theme 1. Sediments as proxies in climate reconstructions · Theme 2. Modeling past climate · Theme 3. Isotopic records and past climate · Theme 4. Processes and timing of glacial and warm events · Theme 5. New frontiers in data acquisition and modeling · Theme 6. Data assimilation in models · Theme 7. Links between climate and biota · Theme 8. Filling gaps in Earth History: doubthouse and forgotten periods
Contributors are encouraged to present state-of-the-art results from sedimentological and paleontological archives, climate modeling and/or data analyses, about pre-Cenozoic climates. The workshop is intentionally informal, in order to ease meetings and to open discussions.
Our meeting with its specific topics is designed to reinforce exchanges between the data- and model-communities and to initiate promising collaborations.
